My Sacrifice - Creed / 크리드

 

1996 년 데뷔한 크리드(Creed) 는 미국 플로리다 주 탤러해시 출신 포스트 그런지 밴드입니다. 2004년 해체와 동시에 보컬 스콜 스탭을 제외한 멤버들이 얼터 브릿지(Alter Bridge) 라는 밴드를 결성했지만 2009년 재결합해 지금도 활발한 활동을 보여주는 팀입니다. 2015 년말 발매한 앨범 <With Arms Wide Open : A Retrospective> 이후 활동이 좀 뜸하긴 합니다만...

- 참고로 얼터 브릿지 역시 활동 중입니다. 오히려 더 활발한 쪽은 얼터쪽이죠~ ㅎ

 

My Sacrifice 는 이 팀의 가장 대표적인 곡이라고 해도 될만한 곡입니다. 육중한 사운드와 그루브는 그들의 아이덴티티를 명확히 들려줍니다. 이런 헤비한 사운드를 들려줌과 동시에, 보컬과 세션의 사운드톤은 굉장히 따듯합니다. 곡 중간 브레이크 포인트들로 아주 짧은 시간동안 숨을 멈출만큼의 카리스마를 느끼게 해주니 듣는 내내 전율과 시원함을 동시에 느끼게 해주는군요.

 

정신을 놔버리게 만드는 곡의 카리스마 덕분에, 아직도 많은 밴드들이 이 곡을 커버하고 공연에 올리고 있습니다. 지인 밴드들도 이 곡 커버 많이 하더군요. ㅎ 그만큼 매력 있는 곡입니다. 합주하기도 좋고요. 특히 밴드 '합' 을 맞추기 좋은 곡 같습니다. 미묘하게 주고 받는 멤버들의 사인은... 밴드를 해보신 분이라면 다 아실 듯 싶네요.
