엄청난 슈퍼 밴드를 찾는다? 그럼 이들의 음악을 들어보라고 권하고 싶습니다.

무슨 말이 필요할까 싶습니다. 그냥 이들 자체가 슈퍼밴드 입니다.

 The Winery Dogs 입니다.

 

 

이런 맴버로 곡이 완성될 수 있다는 건 정말 리스너들에겐 축복입니다. 빌리 시언(Billy Sheehan, 베이스), 마이크 포트노이(Mike Portnoy, 드럼), 리치 코첸(Richie Kotzen, 기타, 보컬) 개개인이 이미 숨 쉬고 있는  전설들이니까요.

 

Oblivion 은 2016년 3월에 발매한 이들의 앨범 'Hot Streak' 의 타이틀 곡입니다. 역시나 엄청난 테크니션들 답게 속이 꽉꽉 들어찬 사운드를 들려줍니다. 평소의 연주를 생각하면 조금은 절제했지만, 오히려 노트 하나하나에 힘이 실려 있는 리듬을 들려주는 마이크 포트노이와 여전히 화려함의 극치를 달리고 있는 슈퍼 테크니션 베이시스트 빌리시언. 자신의 한계를 깨기위해 피크 피킹대신 핑거 피킹으로 변환했다는 리치 코첸... 이미 레전드란 타이틀을 일찌감치 단 이들이 아직도 진화 중에 있음을 다시 한 번 느낄 수 있는 곡이네요.

- 리치코첸의 피킹 방법 변경은 정말 충격이었는데요. 정말 잘한 선택같습니다. 확실히 좀 더 레인지가 넓어진 느낌이에요.
